Go get em' both! One is gamestop pre-order exlcusive, and you will need a code. The other is free .99!
The free one is a full game with 1 minute quarters, Giants vs Cowboys in Giant's stadium at night in the snow. The pre-order demo is a full game with standard 5 minute quarters, and it's a recreation of last year's Superbowl, Cardinals vs Steelers. Do it.

i've been playing the demo for about an hour now, and the game plays alot like madden 09 but with the slowed down game speed it makes it much much better.
There are lots of broken tackles in the game but they all feel real (aka Barber running over the CB) also when players get gang tackled they never break out or fall forward so that makes it feel even.
The O-Line and D-Line play is much improved. The O-Line picks up blitzes much better and run blocks like you would expect. For the D-Line runs up the middle are no longer an automatic 3 yard gain with the gang tackling, also the elite D-Line players like Osi will dominate lower rated players. A nice feature added is when the pressure is getting to the QB the controller will vibrate also when the QB gets pressured he is more likely to make a bad pass which gives a nice sense of realism unlike the other madden games of the past.
The passing defense is still hit or miss, its improved but i think the WRs are getting open a little to much. The LBs have been toned down alot in pass coverage, they will no longer jump 10ft in the air to get an INT. The computer also swats the ball down much better now, if the defender is in reach they will try to swat it instead of just letting the WR catch the ball. Man coverage still sucks.
The only complaint i have so far is the wildcat cat may be abusable with a fast RB, but there are only 3 plays so i'll make a final judgment on that when the game comes out.

Right out of the gate you'll notice the game runs a lot slower. This isn't a bad thing, but rather one you'll have to get use to. Bullet passes are gone and it seems that the game has a 2K feel to it from a passing standpoint. Defensively, it feels like you react to everything much easier be it a run or pass play. Maybe that's because the game feels slower, not really sure. All in all, it has some 2K feel to it and hopefully the final version is better than the demo. While I've learned most recently .. that you can't put too much emphasis on a demo, this demo, didn't have me wanting more. Instead of turning in NCAA for credit towards Madden, I'll be keeping it.

I got the 5 minute demo.
To me the textures and player models look worse than Madden 09. But the animations are much better. It does remind me a little bit of 2K5/APF in terms of game speed and presentation.
I hate the fumble recovery minigame. Also Larry Fitzgerald is pretty much unstoppable even by the Steelers defense.

There is a rumor that the demos are not in HD, which would explain why the players look worse then in madden 09. Also the 1 min demo is believed to be closer to the final build then gamestop demo.

i didn't test it out enough, but i think a lot of the floaty passes on routes that weren't supposed to be touch passes are caused by not stepping into the pocket before the throw... i believe that if you do your normal madden drop back, you'll now throw floaty, and easily picked passes... i guess there's just more emphasis on staying in the pocket and stepping into throws...
i kept wondering why my out routes were floating out there so damn much... but i think it's because i have a tendency to drop back pretty far when i go to throw one... i almost never step into the pocket to throw an out route... as i said, i haven't tested it, but from memory, i think i was getting much harder passes to come out when i was actually utilizing the pocket and stepping into my throws instead of just going back to old familiar madden habits...
try this and tell me if i'm right or not...

I was wondering did anyone playing with pittsburgh notice that big ben is dick in madden 10, i played with both az and pitt and az was clearly the better team in madden imo. and i tried a wildcat play with boldin and gained 30 yards on run they might want to tone that down cuz it seemed like a glitch play to me

rumor that the demo is not in HD is semi-retarded... no offense.

I think the question is whether or not the textures are the same quality as the final build. It's possible they were compressed in order to malke the demo file size smalller. I think that's what Komp was referring to.

unlikely... i'm not sure what game you guys are playing, but this game is substantially better looking than madden 09... the player models are better proportioned and look more realistic for that reason alone... not to mention added details like hand towels, player specific gear, ie: santonio's yellow gloves... the models are so detailed you can even see glistening in their damn eyeballs... i've never seen that before in madden... and the biggest thing of all... self shadowing...
whoever thinks this game looks worse then madden 09 is just dead wrong...

The Demo itslelf, is much better than the full version of Madden 09. The game plays much more realistic.
For those that do not like it, M has hit it on the head, has a very much 2k like feel to it. So for those that bash it, are probably the same that loved 2k, so think about that before you go on a rant.
I love the gameplay so far, although I have only played on All Madden. It is very tough to do almost everything on All Madden, which is the way it should be.
I agree with who posted about AZ being the better team, you can dominate Pitt with Fitz, well, Fitz DID dominate Pitt in the SB, and you always have options to pass to. Warner is very slow though, so hold the ball, and your dead.
Rb's seem a tad too slow, however, when playing D, you can really tell the diff between a LB chasing down Felix Jones or Willie Parker, the speed is very realistic, which sucks some times LOL, Willie got me to the corner on a quick cut back a few times. lol
