Last year for the longest time I thought it was the speed of the gameplay that bothered me, that the speed for Madden was just too fast and didn't give me time to think. For that reason I played very little of Madden and chalked it up to being a game that was probably good, but just not too enjoyable for me cause of the speed. But then a week or so ago after playing Madden and NCAA back to back, I noticed that it wasn't the speed, it was actually more the fact that at the line of scrimmage in Madden too often things at the line happen too quickly. They don't give a chance for holes for the running back, DL just disrupt things too quickly, and the same thing will happen with the pass too. It's not all the time, but it is often enough that it just kills the game for me.
Did anyone else have a problem with this about the game?
And after watching some of the Madden videos for the up coming season it appears as if it might be more of the same. In the Giants v. Pats video the very first play is a run where the DE kills the HB before he even has a chance to do anything to react. Which I believe that's the only run play in that video.
Luckily in the other gameplay video that I've seen Green Bay & Minnesota in the snow, it didn't seem to be an issue, as there wasn't anyone in the backfield to tackle a HB the whole video.
I'm hoping it'll end up being better for 09, but I guess only time will tell.

No bro, I think you're dead on about this ... I mean, in NCAA, you defintely don't have this problem in the same degree as Madden. For some reason, in Madden it's like there's no O line to speak of -- as if they took the week off when programming the blocking. If they ever -- get this dialed in, wow -- would the game be sooooo much better.
Based on the videos that have been released so far, which isn't many of them, you can tell that it will be more of the same unless -- they're making some drastic changes before the release.
Let's pray.

yeah, even with the idea of how fun the Raider offense might be to play with having Russell and McFadden if it's the same for 09 I'll pass on picking it up.
Good to know others felt the same about it though, which is also too bad because other than that one issue I had with it it's a good game. But that one problem just kills it.
Hopefully they fix it.
